How does the move-out process work?

The article was updated on 23. 7. 2024.

Not sure how to return the property back to your host? See this article for detailed information about the move-out process!

Before the move-out

As your move-out date approaches, the entire accommodation must be restored to the condition in which you took it from the host - in most cases, this means general cleaning and packing up all of your belongings.

Please remember that:

  • We recommend you take extra care when cleaning the accommodation, so you return it in the condition you received it from the host when you moved in or better.
  • You should also check if everything works properly (e.g., the lightbulbs and electronic devices). If something doesn't work as it should and you can't fix it by yourself, please let your host know about it during the property takeover.

TIP: If you have some leftover durable food from your stay (for example, flour, pasta, salt, etc.) it's up to you whether you leave them in the kitchen for the next guests, or throw them away. However, we recommend leaving only full or mostly full packages and throwing away any liquids.

During the move-out

The time of the move-out varies as it depends on each host's settings, but is always stated in the signed lease agreement as well as in the booking details you can find in your profile. If you need to arrange an earlier or later departure, please contact your host in advance to negotiate an individual agreement.

It's important to note that:

  • For the property handover, the host should bring a takeover protocol which should then be signed by both of you. If the host overlooks this step, remind them and insist on signing it to prevent any misunderstandings.
  • You should always document the property's condition with photos or videos that will back up the property's condition stated in the takeover protocol.
  • We urge you to honestly inform your host about any problems that might have happened in the property during your stay. If the host finds any damages or other problems after your move-out, they may require compensation from you.
NOTE: Please remember that if any issues appear during your move-out, you can always turn to a received email we send all guests before their move-out date, which contains helpful information on how to proceed in various situations.
