I have received a booking request. What should I do?

The article was updated on 26. 6. 2024.

What happens when you receive a new booking, how to accept/reject it, and what else should you know? Read all about the booking process!

When a potential guest submits a booking request for your listing, we’ll notify you via multiple channels and you’ll have 24 hours to accept or reject the request.

The sooner you decide, the better. Faster response times earn your listings a higher position on our platform, making them more visible to potential guests and therefore more likely to be booked. In addition, your average booking response time is displayed in your owner profile and can be viewed by potential guests.

Besides accepting a booking request, it’s also your right to reject a request. We feel it’s only fair to give you this option in case some special circumstances appear. However, occasionally some hosts reject requests unfairly, which is something we’re trying to stop. If you are one of these hosts, we will lower your listing score after each unauthorized rejection (i.e., a rejection caused by incorrect settings of your profile). This means that your listing will drop on our platform so it will be less visible to potential guests and therefore less likely to be booked. You can read more about what an unauthorized rejection is and how rejections work in detail in this article.

IMPORTANT! If you do not respond to a booking request within 24 hours of receiving it, Flatio sees it as the worst type of unauthorized rejection, causing your listing’s position to drop on our platform even more significantly.

Therefore, to ensure your listing is always well-visible, we strongly recommend that you avoid letting booking requests expire and always respond to every booking request received.

How can I accept/reject a booking request?

There are two ways to access a booking request from the My Rentals web app:

  • From the Bookings section
    1. Choose the Bookings section in the top menu.
    2. Find the specific booking’s summary and click the More button.
  • From the Dashboard
    1. Choose the Dashboard option in the top menu.
    2. Go to the Bookings box on the Dashboard.
    3. Click on the specific request.

Afterward, you’ll be taken directly to the booking details, where you can see all the information the potential guest has submitted with their booking request.

At the top of the page, you should then click either the Accept request or the Reject request button.
